Can I migrate from my existing HRIS?+
Yes. PeopleHQ has one-click imports from BambooHR, Workday, HiBob, and Personio, plus a universal CSV importer with field mapping. Most teams are fully migrated within a day.
How long does setup take?+
Most teams are up and running within an hour. Import your employee data, configure your leave policies, and you're ready. Our onboarding specialists are available for a free 45-minute setup call.
Do you offer a free trial?+
Yes. The Growth plan includes a 14-day free trial with full access and no credit card required. The Starter plan is free forever for up to 10 employees.
Payroll & compliance
How does payroll compliance work?+
PeopleHQ automatically calculates tax, national insurance, and pension contributions for your region. We update rules whenever legislation changes — you don't need to lift a finger.
Which countries do you support for payroll?+
We support payroll processing in 40+ countries including the US, UK, Canada, Australia, Germany, France, the Netherlands, and most of the EU. New countries are added quarterly.
Can I run payroll for contractors and full-time employees separately?+
Absolutely. PeopleHQ handles contractors (self-employed, 1099, IR35) and employees with separate payment runs. Both flow into the same reporting dashboard.
Security & privacy
Is employee data secure?+
All data is encrypted at rest (AES-256) and in transit (TLS 1.3). PeopleHQ is GDPR-compliant and ISO 27001 certified. Enterprise plans add field-level encryption and dedicated key management.
Where is data stored?+
Data is stored in EU data centres by default. US and APAC regions are available on Growth and Enterprise plans. Enterprise customers can choose a single-region deployment.
Who can see employee data?+
Access is fully role-based. Employees see their own data, managers see their direct reports, HR admins see everyone. Every access is logged in the audit trail.

Can managers self-serve without involving HR?+
Yes. Role-based access lets managers run 1-1s, approve leave, view their team's performance, and initiate hiring requests — without waiting for HR every time.
Do you support multi-country teams?+
PeopleHQ supports multi-currency payroll, local compliance rules, and translated employee portals for 40+ countries. Global teams are a first-class feature, not an add-on.
Is there an employee self-service portal?+
Yes. Employees get a personal portal to view payslips, request leave, update their personal details, complete onboarding tasks, and access company documents — all without emailing HR.
